Direct answers about ScaleStore, Ceph RGW, and the provider model.
Practical answers about what ScaleStore is, what the Provider Bridge does, who owns the data path, and what stage the product is in.
What is ScaleStore?+
ScaleStore is a provider-enablement platform for organizations that want to run a commercial S3-compatible service on top of Ceph RGW.
What problem does it solve?+
It provides the workflows around RGW that providers otherwise have to build themselves: onboarding, customer access, credentials, quotas, usage, billing inputs and support.
Is ScaleStore a storage backend?+
No. Ceph RGW remains the storage backend and S3 endpoint.
What is the Provider Bridge?+
The Provider Bridge is the provider-side control edge between ScaleStore Cloud and provider-owned infrastructure. It handles approved control actions and integrations without becoming the data plane.
Does customer object traffic go through ScaleStore Cloud?+
No. Customer object traffic stays on the provider path and goes directly to the provider-owned RGW endpoint.
Does each provider run its own bridge?+
Yes. The model is one Provider Bridge per provider.
Who owns the infrastructure and the customer relationship?+
The provider does. That is a core architectural and commercial principle.
Can I buy ScaleStore today?+
ScaleStore is currently working through a design-partner / private-beta model. Commercial terms are discussed directly with participating providers.
